World-renowned Savile Row tailors, Henry Poole & Co, have worked alongside Jaguar TCS Racing to create a special dinner jacket and lightweight suit for its Team Principal, James Barclay. The collaboration demonstrates the coming together of two brands that share a heritage and a passion for excellence.

Meeting an international need

Barclay undertook a design consultation with the London tailors (who are known as the founder of the tuxedo), expressing his need for smart clothing versatile enough to withstand and remain comfortable in international climates. As a regular in all races in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the jet setter regularly travels to and attends high-end events in, Hyderabad, Cape Town, Jakarta and São Paulo. 

Henry Poole & Co x Jaguar

Established in 1806, Henry Poole & Co has a long history of offering the very best in fine British tailoring, while Jaguar has a rich motorsport history that has informed the evolution of its road cars. Jaguar TCS Racing competes in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship street racing series, the world’s first net carbon zero sport, and tests and develops new electric vehicle technologies in a high-performance environment to support Jaguar’s all-electric future. Following its return to racing in October 2016, the company became the first luxury manufacturer to join the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship street racing series. In season eight, Mitch Evans finished as runner-up in the drivers’ standings – his most successful result in Jaguar TCS Racing’s Formula E campaign. Jaguar TCS Racing’s goal is to ‘Reimagine Racing’ (and the brand as a whole). The team has plans to test, develop, learn and collaborate, sharing insights across JLR which in turn will benefit all future road car development. 

Two exclusive pieces

The Savile Row team began their unique and meticulous tailoring process, using high standards of cutting and tailoring skills, and bringing their distinctive style to create two new and exclusive designs. The first is a dinner jacket crafted from midnight blue Barathea 120s worsted wool and the second is a dark blue midweight suit made from 100s wool and cashmere. 

James Barclay commented on the collab: “It’s been a pleasure to work closely and witness first-hand the skilled team at Henry Poole & Co working on these garments, they are rightly so very proud of their history and they are a key part of why Savile Row is world renowned for bespoke suit making. Jaguar too has a rich and illustrious heritage in motorsport, so I’m proud to represent the coming together of two iconic brands to showcase our passion for attention to detail and craftsmanship both now and as part of our innovative futures.”

A place on Savile Row

The landmark street – renowned as the UK’s top location for tailoring and fine wearables – was chosen for Bennett Winch’s new 600 sq foot flagship store. And the area’s heritage shines through in the decor with rare vintage furnishings chosen to pay homage; there’s a bespoke central workbench (inspired by antique drapers tables) and a 1920s tailor’s mirror. Being fortunate enough to create their own bespoke space from scratch, the team were able to bring their existing philosophy and design codes into its build, with a focus on function and material integrity. This was achieved with a team of exceptional craftspeople, who have created features such as seating upholstered in the same grade one Italian leather used in the Bennett Winch luggage collection.

Storm grey suede

This new material has been in the making for a long time. Working together with their Italian partners, Bennett Winch undertook very many rounds of sampling and development to come up with the latest textile – a completely waterproof suede. The material is hide-moss backed and treated to repel moisture and perform perfectly, whatever the weather may throw at you, wherever you find yourself in the world. And this unique character of medium temper napped suede brings a stunning aesthetic to the new collection, which is much about style as it is about substance.

Designed with the discerning minimalist in mind

Minimalism is key to the range, ensuring each item is an evergreen classic, forever in fashion and ably pairing with any look or style. The full collection amounts to over 60 pieces ranging from the ever-popular Suit Carrier Holdall and signature Weekender, to Watch Rolls, wallets and other small leather goods are available online or in-store. British clothing brand Thomas Pink has announced its brand-new Resort Shirt 2023 Collection.

Scottish Highland Distillery Glenmorangie and American designer The Shoe Surgeon may seem like an unusual pairing, but like their sneakers, it turns out they’re the perfect fit. Over the past 12 months, the brands from across the pond and very different worlds have been collaborating on a series of exciting events and products. And now they bring us a limited edition run of just 100 sneakers. 

The Shoe Surgeon

The Shoe Surgeon is Dominic Ciambrone, creator of SRGN Studios, a Los Angeles-based collective brought together to push the boundaries of shoe-making and rework the design codes. The Studios specialise in custom-tailored solutions, placing an emphasis on integrated marketing and branded experience. This out-of-the-box approach led to a partnership with the Scottish heritage distillery, Glenmorangie.

The Shoe Surgeon spoke of the bond between the two brands:

“Merging Glenmorangie’s wonderful world of premium whisky and our craft of luxury bespoke shoemaking has been a rewarding journey – just as they carefully select the finest ingredients and methods to create the smoothest and most complex of whiskies, we share the same level of excellence and passion. Hand-crafted shoes from the world of whisky

The new sneakers have been inspired by Glenmorangie’s playfulness and longstanding elegance. They mimic the whisky bond’s bold use of colour and materials, paying homage to the brand’s trademark orange. The sneakers also sport a barley textured suede as a nod to the liquid’s ingredients and copper detailing inspired by Glenmorangie’s signature stills. Finally, a tartan lining offers a reminder of the distillery’s geographical location and heritage. 

The Mobile Shoe Surgeon Studio

Kicking off the launch, a bespoke Mobile Shoe Surgeon Studio will deliver a select number of sneakers through an unprecedented delivery service. This will combine a VIP tasting and sneaker customisation experience at each recipient’s front door, further melding these two previously separate entities, into one one-off experience. 

 Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation at Glenmorangie said of the collab:
